I am stuffed typing this out. It was the 3rd dinner in a row that my mom cooked for house guests. Christmas Eve was dinner with close friends before Christmas mass followed by midnight appetizers after mass. Then Christmas Day was dinner with just our family followed by a large dinner party for Boxing day. I really enjoyed myself these holidays. It seemed really stress free in comparism to other years so I hope your holidays went really well too! Happy New Years to everyone and I'll catch up with you in '08! NOW OFF TO NEW YORK CITY!
Another mention from Anil's birthday party is that I had the chance to meet his super talented brother. Check out the music video he's just directed which features none other than my amiga Nelly Furtado. It's now on rotation on MuchMusic. Nicely done.

So my buddy Anil had his bday party yesterday (he actually shares the real day with this guy named Jesus). He and his boyfriend were great hosts where I stuffed my face and drank my ass off. However, on my way home I was lucky to listen to the cds he gave me for an xmas gift (along with this rad $50 gift cert. to Threadless). OMG the tunes are so great... in fact so amazing that I felt put to shame about my self proclaimed music guru status that I impose on everyone I know haha. The music is like an 80s sythn orgasm and I can't stop with the listening orgy! Check out a few. Oh and Anil thanks so much. Happy birthday buddy!
It's a long question that couldn't really be phrased in this entry's subject line but have you ever been in the scenario where someone thinks you like them when it's so far from the truth but they are totally convinced on what they feel and treat you differently because of it. Example:
I went to this networking event and met... well let's call her Julie. We hit it off... she was funny and she thought I was cool but I totally knew she was married. Well being the networking professional that I am I emailed Julie to meet her for coffee and she obliges but our schedules don't work out. We then bump into each other at another networking function and for some reason it's awkward... was it because we didn't get around to connecting over coffee? Or was it the fact that I hugged her twice in a 10 minute period but when introduced to her friend only shook the friend's hand. Hmmm... I think it was the latter. It was one of those nights though, where you're tired and not in the mood to really think about clever things to do and say which I think contributed to the saga between me and Julie. Well our paths crossed again yesterday at a Starbucks where we both uttered a high pitched "hi!". Again awkward. I caught her deer in headlights expression like omg here he is again and he's gonna try to hit on me one more time. Well, sorry babes but I never was hitting on you and won't be anytime soon.
Sorry just had to get that off my chest but I thought blogging about this would be a way to express my feelings on this topic. Has it painted me in a better light... probably not. Does anybody catch my drift... again probably not. Mission unaccomplished. One of those weird misunderstandings which lead to situations you cannot explain I guess.

Last night I was able to enjoy some quality time with my bro, which is a rare thing, and we caught The Golden Compass. We were supposed to watch Beowulf instead but for some reason the showing that we planned on going to dissapeared. Well maybe it was for the best we didn't catch Beowulf because I enjoyed The Golden Compass a lot. I just wanted to see a classic fantasy film and that's exactly what The Golden Compass is. Great performances, especially the young British girl (Dakota Blue Richards) who's the main character, as well as some fantastic special effects. I highly recommend it and it's perfect for the holidays even though on the internet world the movie has been considered a flop because of box office poison Nicole Kidman. I'm so over the whole hate on Nicole Kidman thing and even the whole Tom Cruise thing. At least they're not out drunk every night flashing their hot pockets and snorting copious amounts of drugs like other celebrities. The movie also stars many others such as Daniel Craig and Eva Green. Do these two have to contractually do movies together now?

Michael Scott:
"A boss is like a teacher. And I am like the cool teacher. Like Mr. Handell. Mr. Handell would hang out with us. And he would tell us awesome jokes. And he actually hooked up with one of the students. Um, and then like twelve other kids came forward. It was all in the papers. Really ruined the 8th grade for us."

Wow... MIA's new video to paper planes... a song that's constantly playing on my iPod. Check it. I'm ready for NYC now since watching this!
I can't wait to be walking around the streets of Manhattan listening to this! Dope video by Zoot Woman. It's called "We Won't Break". It'll break your speakers though.
You can download the tune here totally legally (YAY!): http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/Zoot_Woman/download/We_Wont_Break
