I mean to post this last week and somehow forgot to. Coldplay released their newest video to their single Life In Technicolor II which features them in puppet form. You probably have already seen this since it's been all over the blogs, etc. It's not my favourite video... reminds me of this crap Spice Girls video but yeah not bad for a Coldplay video. Love how I get emails sitting in my inbox and the sender is "Coldplay" updating me on new releases. Feels like they're my friends asking me what's up for the weekend. I was thinking about this post at the gym actually and thought how if you stalked me you would think I'm this big Coldplay fan when really I'm not. You would find all of their CDs in my CD collection, Chris Martin is front and center of this blog's banner, I've seen them in concert, they're on my iPod with remixes but really I'm like an average fan. Just thought that was funny.
While we're on the topic of MY favourites from 2008, here is a brilliant mash-up of Billboard's 25 most popular hits of 2008 done by San Francisco's mash up artist DJ Earworm. You'll note the following tunes set to Coldplay's Viva La Vida giving it an orchestral feel:

Here's a song that Kylie Minogue recorded with Coldplay during their sessions for Viva La Vida. It didn't end up making the final album cut but has now been released as one of the songs made available for download to mark World Aids Day for the (RED)WIRE campaign. Enjoy.
Hey everyone! New Coldplay! It's the Baywatch sounding song that is Coldplay's next single "Lovers In Japan". I have also included the Osaka Sun Mix, which sounds no different than the album version... can you tell me the difference since I cannot? I have also included two new mixes that I've just found for Violet Hill and Viva La Vida. Verrrryyyyy goooood unlike that Jay-Z remix of Lost. I hope Lost gets a nice electro treatment like Violet Hill and Viva La Vida did.
So they've released my favourite track off of their Viva La Vida album and they've released a blah live video... is it 1988? Anyways they were never really known for their amazing videos. Case and point Yellow and The Hardest Part. Anyways watch Lost! which was filmed in Chicago.
Check out the video to Coldplay's Viva La Vida even though the single's been out for quite some time. Love this tune.
See Coldplay's other video for "Viva La Vida". I like this song better than their current video for Violet Hill. I think I mentioned that a few posts ago. Anyways, apparently this band from the US called Creaky Boards claims Chris Martin was at one of their shows clearly enjoying himself. Well much to the band's surprise when they heard Viva La Vida for the first time and how similar it was to their song ironically entitled "The Songs I Didn't Write". Here comes the lawsuit and Coldplay has deep pockets!
HAHA just watched the video over and realised it's a fucking iTunes ad hahaha. Whoops. It'll probably be better than the real video anyways since Coldplay have shit videos. Remember that one with the old people dancing? Yikes.
Anyways, here's the Creaky Boards version below.
Supposed to be writing an article to be published for work but I'm blogging instead. I'll think of this as a warm up to getting thoughts onto the keyboard. Anyways, found some great music today so hopefully you enjoy it too.
First up:
Black Kids - I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You (The Twelves Remix)
Saw this group live before Cut Copy came on stage and they actually stole the limelight from Cut Copy that night. They played a great set and I became a fan of their infectious poppy retro tunes. I especially like this remix of their single with the longest title in the world.
Then we have FrankMusik's very chilled electronic "In Step". This will be in my car indefinitely when cruising on a hot summer day. Check out the video... hula hoop gone wild!
Now comes Nas' newest "Hero" which is a hot jam and features Keri Hilson.
And then comes the Kanye remix to N.E.R.D.'s Everybody Nose! I LOVE this remix! Such an improvement in my opinion since I never really liked the tune except for the call out in the beginning. Another point for Kanye. Also features Lupe and Pusha T.
Coldplay released Violet Hill almost simulanteously with their new single Viva La Vida but the latter is actually doing better in the states chartwise than Violet Hill. It's obvious why when listening to Viva La Vida... it's an excellent tune that's not so Coldplayish sounding but at the same time sounds exactly like a song they'd make.
Here's a funky ass tune called Live Fast! Die Old! by German/Italian electro band Munk and features Italian actress Asia Argento.
You may have heard this one already. The Ting Ting's latest "Shut Up And Let Me Go" is featured on the latest Apple iPod commercial and will hopefully get this band some much needed attention. Was invited by my buddy Marc to catch them last weekend in Vancouver but had to bail from the large number of concerts I've already been to. My poor credit card is in pain.
Okay... one last tune. The hot Designer Drugs remix of Jupiter One's Countdown.
