Check out the video to Simian Mobile Disco's Synthesize. My brain is trying to synthesize if I like this track. I appreciate the throw back to house but I prefer the direction of their first album.
Blinded by the lights! The stage for Simian Mobile Disco was packed with LEDs systematically turning on and off with electronic beats pounding in the background. Now I totally enjoyed myself but felt the crowd was lacklustre in their enthusiasm. They're not entirely in the blame... SMD isn't the most engaging act to watch even though they seamlessly mixed together their top songs from their current album Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release with remixes they've done. Coming out of a few shows that I've seen recently I just feel that it was as pumped as Justice was. Maybe it was the venue. Maybe Richards is just too small to let loose. Maybe it's cuz letting loose would have had you rubbing up on a scenster who smelled of like a vintage clothing store with cigarette smoke hair. However, I'm glad I went. There's nothing more gratifying then being at your desk and the receptionist drops at your desk a purchase you made but completely forgot about when purchasing it online a few weeks back. Today's item is this amazing compilation CD from Australia called FuturePOP. It is absolutely amazing and if I could make a compilation CD and sell it to the masses it would look similar to this. Simian Mobile Disco's Attack Decay Sustain Release album was probably one of my favs in 2007 and I pretty much wet my chair when my buddy Anil told me they were coming to Vancouver to play Richard's On Richard's (I have yet to see a bad concert there). He was a little slow getting the tickets (no offence Anil) so I took the liberty of getting some. My homie Peyv got so excited about this that he bough even more tickets so Roberto... you're coming to Simian Mobile Disco hahaha. Better book April 23rd off! I posted all of their videos below just so you can see how amazing these guys are. 2 concerts in that week! Would have been 3 if I was able to make it to Kanye's Seattle concert.
Which version to you like better? The new junkfood version or the old telling secrets version? You decide.
